Celebrating 20 years of service to our brain injured clients
Based in Battle, East Sussex the organisation now provides case management to clients across the South East of England in Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, London, Essex and Kent.
Don Young founded Brain Injury Services Ltd in 1999 and whilst now retired from front line case management remains as Chairman of the Company. Don always wanted a company and the team to be like a family and with the client always coming first.
Kathryn (Kat) Howard and Jennifer Mitchell took over the day to day management of the company in June 2013 following Don’s retirement. Together they run all company operations and hold clinical governance in the management of all cases. The family ethos and values which Don developed over many years are still very much at the heart of our company. This is embodied in our core values which translate into the ethical, sustainable and innovative ways in which we, and our team, help our clients and their families.
Jenny and Kat retain full control and overall responsibility of the clients and the case managers work. They are always on hand to give advice, support or be an ear to listen to the team’s woes or celebrations. Either Jenny or Kat are on call to the clients, families and teams out of hours and have met all Brain Injury Services' clients.
Our Trusted Services
What they say about us
The Team at Brain Injury Services are a pleasure to deal with and offer a fantastic service to both their clients and other professionals. We are grateful for all the support and assistance they give us.
Laura is a committed and enthusiastic case manager. She goes the extra mile in helping clients deal with very stressful situations. She never loses sight of the client's needs. I would have no hesitation in recommending Laura to others and have recommended her to my colleagues. My client is very happy with Laura and with all the support she provides her. Her background in psychology is an added bonus, which helps bring an intelligence and insight to a role which is so vital to my clients.
At your time in need it is important to have a case manager who understands your needs. Our case manager from Brain Injury Services does just that. Our CM supports us by listening, caring and being a critical friend. The legal process is difficult and emotionally draining, but this is made a lot easier by having a case manager and team you can rely on.
Kat Howard and her team at BIS really go the extra mile for clients. The team members are trained to support with compassion and understanding and they have the ability to work in often very stressful situations. I highly recommend them for their caring professionalism and reliability, as do many of my Clients and their families who are fortunate enough to have their support.
Working with both Anna and Theresa has been a pleasure and I would not hesitate to recommend them to other clients. Complex cases can sometimes be very challenging due to so many other people being involved, each with their own skills and opinions and the client at the centre. To ensure that a clients best interests are at the forefront of everything we do requires excellent communication and professional skills as well as empathy and determination. Anna and Theresa are always approachable and pragmatic offering support and liaising efficiently with all concerned to ensure outcomes are met effectively and efficiently enhancing the lives of those with whom they work.
I have worked with Kathryn Howard for the past 2 years as she is the case manager for two of my clients. She is a pleasure to work with and she builds close, professional relationships with her clients who value her expertise. I would use Kathryn's services again and would not hesitate to recommend her services to other clients or professionals.
