PHB (Personal Health Budget) & Client Account Management


Another popular service we provide is holding and maintaining client accounts. We have the know-how within our administration and accounts team to manage or help you advocate for personal health budgets on your behalf.


PHB (Personal Health Budget) Management.

PHB's are packages which are funded by a Clinical Commissioning Group or Local Health Authority. The principles are the same as in the management of any cases but we also complete accounts and services that meet the financial standards of the CCG and Local authority in which to ensure the client account is managed appropriately and within budget.

Brain Injury Services Ltd will work with both the client and their Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) or Local Health Authority to accurately assess and determine the most appropriate person-centred complex care package, therapeutic input and assessment of needs holistically. This will be presented for authorisation, including full costs and package requirements, often in the form of a prospective budget. Once approved Brain Injury Services Ltd can deliver any number of case management services including sourcing appropriate housing, therapists and can recruit, train and manage all direct employment needs of the client or funders.

Direct Payment Care/Personal Health Budget – funds allocated directly to the client’s family or client account held and managed by Brain Injury Services Ltd.

Brain Injury Services Ltd will work directly with you to accurately assess and determine the most appropriate person-centred complex care package, therapeutic or clinical input and support plan. Brain Injury Services Ltd can provide the full range of services necessary to assist you with establishing your care package - from assisting you with the employment of your care workers or sourcing appropriate therapists to treat the client’s needs. Brain Injury Services Ltd can also help manage your funding, deliver accurate and reconciled accounts provided directly to you by your local Clinical Commissioning Group or Health Authority.

Management of Client Accounts

Brain Injury Services Ltd are able to maintain bank accounts for clients.

We have a general client upon which allows us to purchase equipment for clients or if you wish us to hold money on behalf of your client we can set up a client saver account for the individual client.

Payments for payroll can come into the client account and Brain Injury Services Ltd make payment to the client’s employee. We also hold money for clients and as and when they need equipment or any other purchases then we can do this straight away.

Each month the clients bank account is reconciled, and a copy of the spreadsheet and the original invoice is sent to the relevant party.

PHB management is the same process and we carry out all the liaison with the involved authorities on your behalf, so you do not have to worry. You can be involved in the process as much as you wish. We can develop a budget for your client and also advise on the staffing requirements for your budget.
